Actually Erek Tinker - they're already fixing the problem.
   Minecraft in School teaching Python, and programs like
   [1]http://scratch.mit.edu fixing the problem starts in
   elementary school, and I know several girl coders and they know
   computers as well as me..

   There's a whole subculture of people who do some extremely
   difficult animations and music creations using Japanese software
   to make their favorite anime characters sing a new song they
   wrote and sung and danced completely by the computer. This
   software is VERY complicated stuff and there's a lot of
   scripting involved.

   They're mostly teenage girls, some guys too.

   Gamer girls are nearly equal in number to gamer boys these days
   - and as we know gaming can lead to hacking can lead to
   programming.

   So change is already happening.
