^It's 6pm - I'm sitting in Mom's room at the hospital. She's
   awake and talking with Debbie. A tiny bit dopey, but 99% awake,
   and swapping stories.

   I passed on everybody's well wishes - read them off to her - and
   she was really quite impressed!^
