A hipster, in short, is the male version of the female "white
   girl" stereotype. Very first world, too good for everybody else
   around, pompous without any real good reason to be. Wannabe,
   trend-follower, etc.

   "Kids today don't know alternative. Why, back in MY DAY, we knew
   alternative when there was a real choice in the matter".

   Stuff like that.   Another variation of hipster is "neckbeard".
   But all stereotypes are generally ridiculous anyway.
