Well, regarding to Buddhism, there is some textual animosity
   towards Islam from the 9th century:

   sources too - it's well known] but of course, the argument goes,
   it's an anomaly that can be ignored because it goes against the
   tenets of the earlier establishment of the religion. Like
   anything, it's all about the relative importance ascribed to it
   by the people implementing it. I'll return to the 'text only' as
   danger in this regard; as not all texts can have equal
   importance and there's no single book or group of books that are
   enough for a society to function properly. Everything can't be
   written down - it's just not possible - and within even that
   which is, what to keep, what to ignore is up to the spirit of
   the times as it were and/or to the willful choice of individuals
   who choose to highlight or bury certain phrases in light of the
   needs or desires of their whims or their cultures (spirit of the
   times).
