Mad-Scientist view of God messes people up I think, which is
   where the "What came before God?" or "What came before Time?"
   and other things like that. That's where you reach a point of,
   the further back you go, there's more of it and then you end up
   in wonky places like: a) creating a self-emergent fractal
   reality b) creating the Bulk - a dimension higher c) eliminating
   our reality altogether and calling it an illusion (the "we're a
   holograph stretched across a black hole just reliving what
   already happened" Susskind thing d) making a mathematical circle
   where "What is, always was". And in all cases, avoiding the
   issue entirely. Replacement Gods. It's what keeps me agnostic.
   One's as good as another generally although some are more
   descriptive than others.
