I think it's just something I try to remind myself of whenever I start to consider somebody as "stupid". Instead of 'blaming the victim' as it were, I try to remind myself that I'm just not as good a communicator as I think I am, and I have to either accept that, or try harder. -- That's awesome though. I mean, who's really the perfect communicator? I mean, Mr Rogers was _really_ good - one of the best honestly. Can't think of anybody better than him. I read a book about Certainty once in the library a few months back. [well, I skimmed it... I hardly read anything cover-to-cover] and it brought up some fascinating things about certainty and how it can lead us into some pretty big mistakes that we're blind to _because_ of our certainty. Certainty is basically an emotion and the stories we tell to justify our certainty are always done after-the-fact. In the case he was making, it was a danger of scientific hubris. So if you feel awkward and uncertain about your communication skills, I consider that an excellent thing because really, uncertainty is the reality and certainty the illusion. Keeps me on my toes anyway as I have to be ready-to-be-wrong at any given moment, while ALSO trying hard to 'get it right' :)*
