Well it was the "global rich list" - I don't know who is behind it: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/personal-finance/050615/are-you-top-one-percent-world.asp and really, that the $34000 puts us in the top 1% of the world shouldn't be surprising. It points to the EXTREME unbelievable poverty that exists in the majority of the world. Poverty we just can't fathom. Doesn't mean we shouldn't fight for our own of course - I mean if you're in the USA, it's far less likely we'll ever experience the kinds of poverty that are commonplace elsewhere. It just puts it into perspective a bit for me. == Oh I'm not saying "shut up and deal with it". We should fight for our own, for homelessness in our own country. We should fight against worker injustice here in the USA. It makes lives for people in our country better. After all, we can't fix the entire planet. It's just for me, personally, it keeps me from always looking at the top of the pyramid and saying, "How come I'm not there?" while not looking below me and seeing that I'm only three stones away from the top of a VERY tall pyramid. No, I'm not saying things could be worse to others. I'm saying it for myself and sharing my findings with you.
