Yes - I mean math is substantial and I'm certainly not denying its beauty as well as its practicality. I'm speaking of its uncanny utility in physics in particular, for as beautiful and valid as mathematics is with regards to a description of physical systems, there are points where they disconnect and go their separate ways. That's not a bad thing: It just means that physics isn't math and math isn't physics, but they correlate beautifully with each other in many ways.
