It took me 42 yrs to SERIOUSLY look at Philosophy, which I did for 9 months last year and now, I'm just hanging around for friends I've made in the process. I discovered what I kinda already knew: I learned what I needed to know about boolean logic and the excluded middle via experiences in programming and math, and the higher valued logics through experiences in poetry and wordplay, thinking through issues that had no binary resolve, etc. Yet, there's limits to logic, even the multivalued logics. Not everything resolves to words or concepts as atomic. [or numbers as atomic for that matter]. You can go very far indeed, but some things are beyond it. I believe philosophy *is* useful for, as you said, gathering multiple perspectives on things and helpful in developing some clarity of thought. As a basis for life though? Eh. It can become a script then or an app but not a life. Or maybe it can. I don't know. That's my main philosophy: I don't know grin emoticon
