I don't think so! Unicode is just a bit more "advanced" ASCII with two byte representation. W2k/WXP registry is in unicode, so default export format is therefor also in unicode (manually by menu export or command line with regedit.exe /e). This type of files will have the text "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" as the first line. To edit them you will need tools/editors that understands unicode. Both export types can be changed to export in good ool ASCII. This type of files will have the text "REGEDIT4" as the first line. W2k/WXP has no problem importing old ANSI registry files! Just be sure the first line says REGEDIT4. To export registry files in ASCII with regedit.exe in W2k/WXP: REGEDIT /e:a filename [regpath1] or REGEDIT /a filename [regpath1] Here is the documentation I have collected on regedit.exe throug time: Exporting: REGEDIT filename1 REGEDIT /C filename2 REGEDIT /E filename3 [regpath1] REGEDIT /E:A filename3 [regpath1] REGEDIT /A filename3 [regpath1] REGEDIT /D regpath2 /L:system Specifies the location of the SYSTEM.DAT file. 'Can be added on the command line /R:user Specifies the location of the USER.DAT file. 'Can be added on the command line filename1 Specifies the file(s) to import into the registry. /C filename2 Specifies the file to create the registry from. /E filename3 Specifies the file to export the registry to. /E:A and /A Specifies ASCII output for W2k/WXP regpath1 Specifies the starting registry key to export from. (Defaults to exporting the entire registry). /D regpath2 Specifies the registry key to delete. ' This I have not been able to work Importing: REGEDIT filename1 filename2 filename3 .... REGEDIT /s "fil ename1" [filename2 filename3 ....] ' /s = silent You can delete with registry files !!!! Delete key: [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Brix\Testapp2] Delete value: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Brix\Testapp2] "Test"=- Regards, Torgeir Paul Schrader wrote: > Hello Out Their... > > DOes anyone know the new command line options for regedit ?
