Fall really hit us hard up here in the north. It's cold and windy since
a few weeks back. I've been out in the woods from time to time again to
look for mushrooms, since the wet weather usually makes them pop up
around this time of year. Not much I'm afraid.

Speaking of things getting colder. The girl I was dating broke up with
me yesterday, and I'm of course not happy about that. The last few weeks
have been great, and I really liked hanging out with her, but she didn't
feel anything for me apparently, so she had to walk. I'm glad she was as
upfront about it as she was; killing any hope of us ever having anything
more serious actually helps with the healing process. It's hard to mull
over what could have been when you get that kind of closure. We met up
yesterday and talked for a while in a park, had a last hug, and went our
separate ways.  She expressed an interest in hanging out as friends in
the future, and I think that would be great. But I have to deal with
this first, and that may take time. Maybe it's one of those things one
just says and it will never happen, but who knows how this feels in a
few weeks or months. We may be different people then.

Regarding the gemini-mirror. It turned into something different. I
created a gemini-space where I will share some of my pictures. I like
photography, and do developing and scanning/enlarging of photos myself,
and I thought this would be good content to share there. If you have a
gemini-client, check it out! I started experimenting with different
gemini-servers, and I had some success with geminid and jetforce. I
prefer to run geminid if possible, mainly because it lacks support for
stuff other than static gemini-pages and files. It's what I need, and I
prefer not to have cgi-support and stuff like that included if I don't
need it. I had some e-mail-contact with the author of geminid, since I
ran into a problem regarding images and media-files not being served
properly.  This actually turned out to be a bug that he hadn't
encountered, but he was kind enough to fix it and update the repo, which
resolved the issue. I currently run jetforce, but will be migrating back
to geminid. See below for links.
