Microsoft, you are a fucking mass ================================= So I have this old phone, a Nokia Lumia 1020, which I bought mainly because its 42 MP camera (which is really brilliant). One day the phone stopped working -- it rebooted and since then right after the Nokia logo it says "no bootable option was found". Which means that the Windows Mobile OS was somehow (don't ask how or why) damaged. So today I downloaded this magnificant tool called "Windows Device Recovery Tool" and attempted to Recover my Windows Device. No surprise, the Tool only works on Windows, so I had to boot into Windows. I connected the phone and in deed the Tool found it as "Unknown Lumia Device" with an "Unknown firmware version". But have no fear, the Tool will download the latest firmware and flash it onto the phone. I was quite suspicious (if it is "unknown", how does it know what to download?), but sure, OK, let's do this. The Tool downloaded 1.6 GBs of data and reminded me to make sure that the phone is charged to at least 20% (how should I know how much power it has, I can't boot into the OS which displays the battery percentage, remember?, never mind). Let's assume that it is charged, here we go. The Tool starts to flash the image. Then it exits, saying this image is not suitable for my device. The image that it just downloaded automatically, because there is no option to select an image. For a device, it doesn't even recognize. For crying out loud. Microsoft, you are a fucking mass.
