I would say its a good weekend. I have spend friday and 
saturday with work on my project to convert an old barn
on the ground of my parents to be the home of my wife
me, and soon our first child. I installed a metal 
staircase, cleaned up a floor to lay vinyl the coming
week and did a few other minor tasks on the
"construction site". 

On the IT side of things i am diving further into uxn
and the whole virtual machine around this project. The
(in my perception) growing perma- / alternative- /
post-collapse computing community is where i for once
feel completely at home. The community is striving to
build and maintain "human sized" systems, systems that
idealy one person can completely understand. What better
could there be for the hard times on the horizon? And
the way to implement it as a virtual machine that can
be run even on really slow hardware (we are talking
Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance... and IBM PC). I think
this is one of the best candidades of software to not
only survive the coming climate apocalypse / breakdown
of complex society but also thrive in that conditions.

One another positive thing this weekend: My electric 
foldable scooter arrived, i think this will be the best
tool to bring me finally to abandon my car use and 
completely do commuting and errants via bus and train.
Now i have only to wait for the insurance sticker to
arrive to use it legally on public roads (of course,
i would never admit that i could have possibly done
a few "shakedown runs" already...)
