Maxims which have got me by and seem to work well for me. I will start with these two and add more as I go. 

- You don't have to be original to be creative. 

You can still be creative borrowing, mixing and reusing existing ideas and techniques, for example the wheel is a wheel and it unlikely that I will be designing a new wheel, so I use what you already have, and start from where I am. 


- Brick by Brick

How was Rome built?  Brick by Brick! - and this is generally how I do things. I have learned over the year to be patient. I also happen to like bricks very much. I'd like to make my own bricks, different types of bricks using different materials, methods techniques.  I feel that making bricks and brick building is an ancient way of "printing money", I hope to expand on this idea at some point in a seperate article.
