Who is S1ygn and why is he making this ancient thing in 2022?

Hello, I am known as s1ygn. Why am I using a variation on the name of a Norse
goddess? Because during the chaos after the change of control at Freenode, I did
some trolling as 's1gyn' as Freenode's antispam bot was 'sigyn'. I liked the
nick better than my old one so I started using it on all the irc networks. It
was months before I realized where the name came from.

I work as a Linux sysadmin, and I have education in electrical engineering,
information technology and information security. My interests are in
Christianity, cycling, computers, pens and radio.

I am interested in things like simple JS-less HTML, Gopher and Gemini as an
alternative to the way the internet has become, when I was a kid the world
wide web was an amazing place to learn and collaberate with people. Now
it is all about tracking and advertising. Information is all stuck in walled
'social networks' and you are a product.

You can find me as s1gyn and sigyn on irc. I hang out mostly on Libera, Geekshed
