Week starting July 20th, 2020 (Week 30) ======================================= My daughter and I made butter today as part of her online camp. Literally just took a jar half-full of double cream, a pinch of salt, a marble to mix the contents, and time. We had to shake the jar for over 20 minutes, trading off as our arms got tired. Our jar was too full, so the butter is more the consistency of really dense whipped cream, but it's delicious on fresh bread! --- I try to seperate my "work" and "personal" accounts on my Mac, and it's amazing how poorly it works. I constantly run into permission problems, licenses not working correctly, and any number of other issues. It's incredible that my university used to pack thousands of students, hundreds at a time, on to a low end minicomputer, but my expensive Mac decades later can't handle two non-simultaneous users. To be honest, it's not a problem with either the hardware or the OS. Its with developers who don't believe that two users could both want to use their apps on the same machine. --- I have been running NoScript on Firefox for two days, now, and it’s been both a pain and a revelation. As I browse more, and set more stuff to trusted, it becomes less of a pain. But what’s remarkable is how much less data I’m downloading, and how much faster pages load.
