	i look out onto an empty room

	and i feel the echo of my aloneness

	

	i tire of filling the space

	with disembodied words from recordings or radio

	

	as the winter sets in

	i pull back

	like sap

	deep into a tree

	

	wanting

	to be missed

	

	i hope another will come

	bearing the warmth of a thaw
