	In an unconfirmed rumor this morning, I stumbled onto a note suggesting that Christopher Eccleson will be starring in a revival of The Prisoner.

	 

	In my opinion, the role of Number 6 (first done by Patrick McGoohan) is much better casting for Mr. Eccleson than the role of The Doctor. His edge, intensity, comedy, and desperation fit the role of a former spy with secrets to hide who only really wants to forget the whole thing but isn't being allowed to do so perfectly.

	 

	Of course, if this is true, does it mean that the BBC may start digging deeper into its archives and match more young actors with gems of the past? I, for one, hope so. Especially if they choose content from long enough ago that most current viewers have only vague memories of the material at best.
