I was on vacation this past week, it was nice to get away from work
for a while and spend more time with my family. A full week it was -
including my 50th birthday, a visit to a water park, some tennis,
hiking with my wife and camping with my son.

I think my family is trying to tell me something - I got a fitbit
and some hiking shoes for my birthday, as well as one of my favorite
video games - Wii sports (second to super mario world). The original
copy we had has long since been rendered useless with years of
scratches, but Nintendo recently re-issued the game, I suppose due
to demand.

Our hike was interesting, to say the least. We ended up doing 8km at
Mont Sutton, but about 5km in we got caught in a popup thunderstorm
and got soaked. I'll remember the ponchos next time.
