I'm Back!! ---------- I missed tinkering with gopher... and I also missed the special EXCLUSIVE and peaceful gopher community. I like taking a break from the complexity of the World Wide Web-dominated Internet from time to time and I accomplish this by logging on to the SDF shell and previously, gopher. I have decided to continue 'phlogging'. I like records. I am actually quite obsessed with recording just about anything. One of these recordings that I do quite often is recording things that transpire in my life. I have multiple formats of these records: - public weblog (or "blog") - secret weblog (I'm not telling you where it is... haha) - gopher log (or 'phlog'... it's what you are reading now) - social media such as Twitter and Mastodon - profiles (an SDF internal text-only social network... Yes it exists! Run 'profiles') - journals in MacWrite format in my Macintosh Classic hard drive - journals in my 3.5" floppy disks - journals in my 5.25" floppy disks in WordStar format (early 90s before I got my Macintosh) - written journals in composition books and Moleskin notebooks ... I think that's all I have.. I classify the level of exposure of my life recording into: 1) Very Public - public blog - Twitter 2) Moderately Public - Mastodon 3) Exclusive Public - phlog - profiles 4) Private - journals in my Macintosh Classic hard drive, floppy disks - written journals 5) Secret - secret blog 6) Paranoia - software-encrypted journals - blogs in an artificial language I created - written journals in old German cursive OMG This is an overkill! Ha ha! My goal moving forward: I would like to try writing something everyday, even if it is short. I have lots to say to be honest but my GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) makes me so paranoid most of the time that I always end up scrapping what I have just written for fear of making people feel awkward, making myself being shunned and being ridiculed by others, making errors, etc etc. So, everyday I would try going to this site "WritingExercises.co.uk --> Random Subject To Write About" to get a topic to write about and try to say whatever that comes out of my mind, without being too paranoid about what other people may think. It's an experiment. Let's see what happens. I would like to do one for this phlog and one for my weblog, everyday.
