Authentic 1990s experiences

Last week  I try  to explore  Gophersphere more.  I posted  some links
through Mastodon and my Gemini Tinylog. I had been thinking that I saw
most of  the unique content  of Gophersphere. Then I  spotted [Magical
Fish].  It's a  big thing,  with many  new links  and proxies  to text
information  feeds.  What  is  more, it's  operating  with  "Minnesota
traditions".

I suddenly start thinking, that for  sure there are more places, where
I haven't been on Gopher. So I start digging more, and more into it.

I spotted then [Rxivist], text proxy to a new scientific paper that is
trending on the big-net. And [Lobste.rs] which is a text proxy for the
HTTP version of an open Reddit-like  service. Then I read that [cside]
is creating a text proxy for BBC  news. And it's been happening in our
eyes, now. So Gophersphere is still active.

I start  to use  [Show 5  random servers]  on OGUP.  I looked  at some
games-themed Gopherholes. One of  the most interesting was [Smoldering
Wizard's Manse]  where you  can automate your  RPG game  by generating
characters or  rolling dice. It's a  hole that could be  really useful
during a real RPG game.

More time I spent on [Nemesis  MUD]. I even installed a special client
for MUD  called TinTin++. It's  less connected with  Gophersphere, but
this MUD has some Gopher interface (for active players, and manual).

And  I  hadn't  been  expecting   more  special  things,  which  could
happen.   But,   today   I   spotted   another   link   with   [d1337]
Gopherhole. There is  a small set of articles  called "Authentic 1990s
experiences". I was pleasantly surprised  because for the first time I
met a topic  similar to the one I  deal with. So how the  net had been
looking like  in the '90s.  Every who  is still remembers  this should
write it down.
