How to browse Gophersphere ========================== I've realized that I'm listed on [Bongusta]. It's always nice for an author that somebody made a request to put my Phlog there, despite it isn't very active and it hasn't many long entries in the Phlog section. Regardless if I'm on the list or not, Bongusta is my top Gopherhole and I'm visiting it every time I'm browsing Gophersphere. And I started to think about how I browse Gophersphere. Public aggregators ------------------ Probably the first thing every person starts browsing Gophersphere do is visit public aggregators. There are several Gopherholes like Bongusta. I'm reading [Gopher club] which is grouping SDF Phlogs. By being on a public aggregator for a while you will know many of well know nicks of Gophersphere. Local aggregator ---------------- It's handy to have a public page with links sorted by the last activity. So I'm using also a local aggregator built on [Comitium]. It publishes on Gemini, but it's covering Gopher pages also (without the need for a RSS feed, which is convenient). And I'm visiting my local aggregator every day. Sometimes most entries are repeated against public aggregators. But it's our aggregator! Random pick ----------- Keeping a local aggregator is hard work. Many Gopherholes come up and many go quiet. Sometimes Gopherholes of well know nicks are insufficient or I got bored for a while. Sometimes is good to [show 5 random gopher servers]. It's a quick move to go through only five Gopherholes and the reward can be much greater than the time spent on it. ~ [Bongusta] gopher://i-logout.cz/1/bongusta/ ~ [Gopher club] gopher://gopher.club/ ~ [Comitium] https://git.nytpu.com/comitium/about/ ~ [Show 5 random gopher servers] gopher://gopher.viste.fr/1/ogup/rnd -- szczezuja.space CC BY-SA @Sat 15 Apr 2023 09:24:52 PM CEST
