[Possible Reasons for The Matrix]

one negative, six or seven neutral, three or four positive

- To keep humans under control; to have power over them.
* An elaborate experiment; to see what humans do to themselves to
  each other, and to this environment.
* A genetic experiment. Someone spliced genes to create us with or without
  a specific purpose and is observing how that is turning out.
* To learn. But what lesson(s)?
* An elaborate game, perhaps a wager/bet. There is an endgame and scores are 
  kept.
+ To explore this facet of Infinity; Consciousness experiencing itself.
+* To serve a Karmic sentence.
* Virtual Reality simulation or game. The human individual, the character, is
  the player rather than external actors/spectators as in the scenario listed
  above.
+ A species expanding and preserving their presence. However the initial state
  was disrupted by war or natural catastrophe(s) wiping out the initial 
  civilization and technology effectively resetting everything.
+ Backup storage. This universe is basically a "file server" to preserve the
  existence of a species.
* No reason. There are no actors/agents; there is no control. This is just one
  expression of Infinity.
