[The Matrix] I have watched "A Glitch in The Matrix" twice recently. At the time it was on both Prime Video and Hulu. It's probably elsewhere, maybe Google Videos etc. Nothing in it was really new to me as I've been questioning existence for a long time. I had already stumbled across many things -- books on astral projection; works by Joseph Campbell; comparative religion studies; David Icke; a group called "Resistance 2010"; books on magic and witchcraft; books on the Kabbalah; a website called "sacred-texts.com"; PBS programs on quantum physics (NOVA) as well as a college course on the subject; books on the mind; books attempting to bridge science and spirituality; a "book" called "Matrix V" by some dude with the pen name Val Valerian; &c &c. The movie ("documentary"?) tied all those things together into the "Simulation Hypothesis". What's more, the idea intrigues some academic researchers so it has some level of legitimacy in the public sphere (this matters if indeed the "public sphere" is an actual thing and not just something I created (i.e. I did not create The Matrix and this is not "all in my head(set)")). So of course, the natural result is that this concept of everything being "fake" has been stuck in my mind for a while. It's hard to let go of because everything I experience on a daily basis adds fuel to the hypothesis; not necessarily confirming it, but keeping it on the table i.e. nothing has yet proven it incorrect. IRL this may not be like the movie. Statistically, it probably isn't. There are myriad possible reasons for all of this to exist and the plot that the Wachawski brothers (and sister?) dreamed up is merely one of them. I like the term "The Matrix" because I thought the movie was cool. At least the first one...I thought the second one was over-hyped and the third one was more philosophical and I wasn't old enough/experienced enough to understand it at the time. This reality, whatever the hell it is, could be called any number of terms, but I'll stick with the movie title. Bonus side effect: a lot of people have seen the movie(s) or at least heard of it so they'll get the gist of what I'm talking about when I mention it. As of this writing, the fourth one is slated for release on 12/12/21. "The Matrix Resurrections". Gee...what a coincidence...
