-------------- technotheology -------------- Technotheology has three meanings. 1) It is a science which explores all kinds of intersections and coincidences, convergences and homologies (discovered or invented) between theology and technology, mythology and technoscience. From the historical point of view, it is a conjunction of two recent 'turns' in philosophy--technical and religious--which are viewed as basically one and the same 'turn'. 2) It is the name for metaphysics after 'the end of metaphysics'. Here metaphysics is understood as having an onto-theological structure (i.e. is primarily concerned with being and God). Since being has fallen into oblivion due to the evolution of modern technics, the latter (Greek 'techne') appears to replace the former (Greek 'on'). Yet God (Greek 'theos') or what has remained of him seems to persist in his actuality. Hence technotheology as a successor of metaphysics, coupling together what has been brought in by modernity and what has been survived. 3) It is a literary genre which blends theory and fiction, technoscience and mythology.
