I've always been interested in radio stuff. One of these years I'll get my ham radio licence. But in the meantime licence free bands using packet radio is pretty great! I especially like the idea of lora (or other things) integrated into a phone. Which makes the pinephone with the lora backpack, or the wiphone, super tempting as my old oneplus starts to die. Though instead of a voice call focussed device I'd prefer something like a homebrew Nokia N900 rather than something like the Rotary Unsmart Phone. Though I think the RUSP is amazing in its own right. If it could act as a wifi hotspot I would consider getting it, and using a seperate internet device. Maybe with an e-ink screen?
