2021-02-27 ------------------------------------------------------------------ News are the changelog of wikipedia. Just came to me that this phrase concentrates my annoyance with the normal news feed. It's a bit over the top but not much. Basically, wikipedia is focused on understanding an event and writing a history of it. The news just gives me the latest development. I don't have time to be on top of every subject so most stuff on any news feed is waste of my time, and then the ones I would like to know more about I will have to go to wikipedia for. Why is it that journalists are paid but wikipedia is built by volunteers? Journalists should get into building their own wikipedias and stop treating the individual snippet of information as the end product. ------------------------------------------------------------------
