2021-10-20 ------------------------------------------------------------------ I think one of the big self scarring we will look back on will be the way we were put in these little boxes, separated into families and even smaller units. I think it happened organically, maybe accidentally, but it had a certain evolutionary advantage on the productivity of the nation. People were born with an unmet need. This was useful. The need for a tribe is still compelling people to work for the organisations and corporations. I see this need in myself. The amount of social interaction is never right as it is. Either I am alone too much and start getting gloomy, or I am with other people and am overstimulated. The perfect social organisation for me was living with housemates. You could spend time with people in a casual way without need for some pre-arranged activities. This is why people go to the office. I am pretty sure of it. It's a social setting where you have a subtle level of control over the amount of socializing you are willing to take. It may be that the office has even pushed aside the religious congregations. Especially the protestants have worked hard to individualise the members and to make the events more boring. Loosening of the tribe has ended up into a religion of the factory. ------------------------------------------------------------------
