I just had a really nice talk with my brother. We generally talk on the phone once every couple years and see each other for a few days each summer. I spend more time with his kids than with him in the summers and the phone calls can turn sour. It was a nice call though. We talked about: ) Our parents ) Coronavirus ) Step-siblings ) The possible intersection of all of the above ) The economy ) Tik-Tok and China ) Minor home networking issues ) Finding a copy of The Anarchist Cookbook on an old cd-rom ) How bad we used to be and how rough kids have it now ) Old video games and "ageing out of the interface" with touch games ) His antenna that he uses to sneak Starbucks WiFi when he's doing naughty internet things We talked for 63 minutes and I'm sure that's some kind of record. He's in a state with a big coronavirus surge and has some stuff about getting sick and germs. I've been worried about him. I'm still worried about him. Feelings weren't on the list of things we talked about. Maybe next time.
