About this Gopherspace
======================

When I first started exploring the web, I think it was in 1994, I
was studying at the University of Zurich. Using a terminalserver,
I could connect with my SHARP PC-3100 (8086, 2MB RAM, 10MHZ!)
through RS-232 to the main server of the university, where I had
an account on the *NIX system.  Gopher was the key to access online
news, knowledge and bizarre stuff.  It worked perfectly!

Then http came, and I started forgetting about Gopher. I coded in
html, but was never quite happy with that bells&whistles stuff
visible everywhere, not recognizing that I knew already what would
fit my needs!

I am still using html and http (also for my fathers small site [1]
hosted here on SDF as well).

But for personal use, I will try to revive Gopher now! You may find
here links to sites I like, some personal stuff, but maybe also
things of little interest for you, unless you know me personally.

Anyway: Welcome and enjoy Gopher!
(Be aware that there may be texts in various languages on my site,
not only in English!)
