(Actually in September, but I'm too lazy to make a new txt right now.) This was written via MS' HyperTerminal! Of course, that would be too simple, so it's actually in Hyperterminal in Windows XP via VirtualPC on an iBook G4. Simplicity is overrated. This works pretty well, although I guess it would be pretty hard to mess up a telnet program by the time XP was released. Then again, if anyone /could/ manage, it would be Microsoft. === 1 August 2014 I'm actually pretty damn impressed -- Windows 8's built-in telnet is pretty snappy! For some reason, I expected it to be a total shitshow. Well, it's pretty nice to be wrong. Now if only Windows Update wasn't seemingly hung. I mean, it would also be pretty nice if I could reliably launch a web browser without fearing that /another/ memory error would take the damn computer down. Well, hardware issues are pretty much my constant companion. Although oddly, they only seem to plague my Intel-based laptops. That iBook is still plodding along merrily enough. I figure on a 10-year-old laptop whose only issues were a dead hard drive and unplugged internal speakers is good enough. And it is -- so long as I don't want to look at something that requires Flash. Also, watching movies is a bit of a crapshoot. DVDs would probably be fine, since that doesn't need to be software decoded and then displayed, the way various video files need be. So naturally, I don't have any DVDs. Well, that's not important. All I need out of that iBook (usually) is a web browser and a music player. So that's handy! edit: Well, I spoke too soon. God knows why, but somehow trying to enter a newline in my gophermap caused everything to go to hell. It seems to be stuck in some insane variation of VI's "D+arrow" delete mode and overtype. Either way, I doubt I'll manage to fix it from here. To the iBook we go! -Zenostein
