# ZeroIdiot - Phlogging a dead horse -------------------------------------------------------------------69 ## 14.01.2024 - SDF account validated Finally I managed to validate the SDF account. It's awesome! ## 26.08.2022 - Science is the new religion As long as I can remember I was always interested in the question how things work and thus I decided to become a professional scientist. I hoped that some day I would have accumulated enough knowledge to understand what causes lead to which outcomes. And yes, I learned a lot. But, the longer I did the job the more I got aware that this path only leads to always increasing hubris. The first time I realized that was when discussions with my colleague students about the question what we could learn from Goethe's Theory of colors turned out into an anti-phenomenological shit-storm. "There is nothing except you can measure it." Now, that's what I would call a narrow world view. I am not a very religious person, but as I understand it, religion is about "not knowing" but "believing". So what's the difference to a scientific system in which scientists "belief" what they are told in their training? Which scientist did ever "see" an atom? Which scientist did ever "prove" the non-existence of meta-physical entities? Which scientist did ever "observe" that the earth is not flat? None of them. They just repeat dogmas they learned by heart over and over again. They belief until someone even more authoritarian will tell them that a "paradigm shift" happened and they should change their mind as quick a possible. They replaced the old religions, they fought so fiercely, with their own and ever since try to wobble your mind in the attempt to justify (look at deplorable attempts like the one below). "O.k., just let them belief whatever they want. That's only tolerant." you might say. And right you are. But ... Look at the last two years of uncontrolled health science hubris. "Trust the scientists", was the parole. But yes, scientists also lie, scientists also manipulate, scientists also discriminate. Nevertheless, society wants to belief in the integrity of the scientific system. And you better follow the majority point of view too, otherwise you will be deemed to be an anti-vaxer or something even more stupid. Now that's the moment when something gets triggered inside of me. Remember, being 16 and an angry young punk? First I wondered what made me feel like that (the therapist told me). Then I learned how to analyze it (the professor told me). Then I tried to transcend it (the master told me). But now I know that I was simply right. The problem wasn't religion or any other conservative system. It was simply the arrogance and self-righteousness of a society build on authoritarian hierarchies. So, "fuck science" or in a more elegant way "If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him". => https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2015/11/why-scientific-faith-isnt-the-same-as-religious-faith/417357/ ## 11.06.2022 - Anti-vaxers, the Wuhan virus and the majority flaw Thinking about the phrase John Lydon coined in the last Sex Pistols show and that I refered in my last phlog, I came along at lot of articles, one of the unbearable ones was: => https://arena.org.au/get-the-feeling-youve-been-cheated/ The writer seems to be one of those leisure time social psychologists that have been popping out of the ground in the last years to condemn everyone who does not agree with the violent majority propaganda ever increasing since the Wuhan virus started to spread. The so-called anti-vaxers (a phrase solely coined by pro-vaxers to discredit and stigmatize those people, sorry that I use it here) are one of the new favorite enemies of such fascistoid anti-conspiracy experts. And all those praters like to help themselves with sacrosanct arguments like democratic principles. Pity only, that their idea of democracy has nothing to do with freedom, but simply with the mastery of majorities. Regrettably, in this kind of "democracy" the term society is most often confused with majority, and the advocates of these interpretations are always part of the latter. No wonder. But, anti-vaxers are not outside of society, they are only non-majority and an absolutely legitimate part of society. I will not use "in my opinion" here, because for me this is no point of discussion. Everyone has the absolute right not to do what the majority does. The consequences are simply something a society has to deal with. People not stopping to smoke, not reducing their alcohol or meat consumption and so one are of the same kind. And to be honest, everyone of us can be found in some of those categories. ## 22.05.2022 - Ever get the feeling you've been cheated? I have been working for almost 25 years in the present job now. More than 15 years on limited contracts, until they "saw no other way" as to give me an unlimited position to avoid a legal dispute. Enough to say that I work somewhere in academics. Although this is a relative constant environment it is also an absolutely blood-sucking system. Resentment and envy everywhere. Together with colleagues that pretend to cooperate with you on eye level but are constantly pulling threads behind your back to be one step ahead, this makes up a system that will inevitably lead to the famous John Lydon phrase popping up in your mind. But hey, I don't care, although it is hard to put a good face on a terrible story all the time. I don't give a fuck about you suckers (yes, this *is* an appropriate academic idiom here). Nevertheless, enough is enough. This thing has been going on too long. It is time to change something. ## 21.05.2022 - Drums Writing phlogs is nice but doing something you always wanted to do is better. So I started learning to play the drums some days ago. Better later than never. Hope the neighbours will like it. ## 15.04.2022 - Joining azogemini I decided to join the azo-network and make my scattered ideas about how to make the world a better place available to more people. => gemini://azogemini.ddns.net:1977 Edit 21.05.2022: Wait ... I am definitely not the kind of "Make-the- world-a-better-place"-guy. Actually I can't stand those people because they always think to know what a better world might mean to others. I think I should write an angry phlog about this sometime. ## 17.10.2021 - Permacomputing Strolling around gemini space I found something that really cheers me up. I know that solderpunk had a brilliant idea when creating the gemini protocol, but his gemlog about permacomputing really makes me feel that there might be hope in this consumer-brained lemming age. Pity I have been too slow and demotivated to promote my own thoughts in such a brilliant way in the past. But, it's a motivation not to stick to complaining but seeing thing more positive. See the new DIY section ;-) Edits 20.05./11.06.2022: Pity only that this concept comes in such a hipster-phrase. Permathis, permathat. Always old wine in new wineskins. ## 26.09.2021 - A late summer day Sitting on the bench in front of the house. Looks like it's going to be a sunny and warm late summer day. I am still wondering whether I should spend my time writing phlogs. ## 21.08.2021 - Dynamic update client Dynamic update client now works on the Rasperry Pi 3. See www.noip.com. => https://www.noip.com ## 11.08.2021 - Lynx problem Love to browse gopher with lynx. Compiled lynx 2.9.0. dev9. Some problems with utf-8 characters. Edit 22.05.2022: Deinstalled and reinstalled the Devuan default. Fixed. ## 10.04.2021 - Flags and colors Started to fill up the hole with all the useful links I collected for so long. Difficult, as there are so many that are no longer appropriate from my point of view. All this fucking ideologists' crap. So many people who seemed to be on the "right" side and now demasked themselves as faschist authoritarians. Doesn't matter the colours on their flags. So sad ... ## 20.03.2021 - Maybe Maybe I should do it. Maybe I could do it. Maybe it's not too late. Maybe I may be. ## 17.03.2021 - Ascii art Added some ascii art that looks a little like me. Well, maybe some years ago ... ;-) ## 22.02.2021 - Declaration of independence Free yourself from government and read "A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace" by John Perry Barlow . => https://www.eff.org/cyberspace-independence ## 03.02.2021 - Fucking angry Sorry to say that, but the rage against the plandemic will turn this place into a more radical one. No, ... not really sorry. Sorry. Time to speak my mind. Be prepared bastards. Edit 22.05.2022: I was really fucking angry way back then. I am still, but I try to convert this anger to something creative. ## 11.12.2020 - Guinness later Came along here after some time. Gonna drink some Guinness later. Will write down some useful thoughts thereafter (surely). ## 07.11.2020 - V2 online ZeroIdiot v2 is online. Translated. ## 11.06.2020 - V1 online ZeroIdiot v1 is online.
