-------------------------------------------- Trip to Brazilian Consulate 2018.01.22 15:51:56 CET -------------------------------------------- Today we had a trip to the closest Brazilian Consulate, to renew my wife's passport. The first time I had to do this here it was a tiresome process, besides all the paperwork, the process wasn't streamlined at all - it seemed the different government organizations didn't communicate properly. This time everything worked very well. The process is essentially filling out a web-based passport request form and booking an appointment online. For the appointment, just arrive on time and bring ID and photo. The whole process took about 30 minutes, mostly waiting for the person to verify all documents, print and assemble the new passport. My next contact with the Consulate will be later this year, for the Brazilian national elections. Last time I was called to work in the voting center (essentially verifying people's IDs) and I'll likely be called again this time.
