-------------------------------------------- FOSDEM - day 1 2018.02.03 17:15:10 CET -------------------------------------------- Today was the first day of FOSDEM 2018, in Brussels, Belgium. And as usual the day went completely different than I had planned: my plan was to attend the Go dev room. Unfortunately after the official opening, the Go room was already full, so I decided to go back to the auditorium and watch talks there. I was really impressed by Diomidis Spinellis' talk "Unix Architecture Evolution from the 1970 PDP-7 to the 2018 FreeBSD". He is doing a great job at documenting an important part of computer history. [1] I also enjoyed the talk about the "Next Generation Internet Initiative" [2] and Liam Proven's "The circuit less traveled" [3]. Unfortunately I ate something which made my stomach very upset and I had to come back to the apartment and watch the rest of the day remotely. I hope I'll be better for more tomorrow :) [1] https://fosdem.org/2018/schedule/event/unix_evolution/ [2] https://fosdem.org/2018/schedule/event/next_generation_internet/ [3] https://fosdem.org/2018/schedule/event/alternative_histories/
