# Hospital *This happened in the middle of July, but I had no time to translate the Esperanto original until now.* The days of the last week I spent in a hospital. On Friday July 10 I got a stomach ache just after finishing work. The pain was not severe, so I did not really give it any attention and at around 3 pm I had lunch. This was my big mistake. In the evening I developed a fever and the pain got worse. Let‘s skip Saturday - as then I felt better - and let me write about Sunday. More precisely about the events that occurred in the night of Sunday to Monday. At that time I was in so much pain that my wife called the emergency services. The doctor arrived around two hours later, gave me a shot in my buttocks to ease the abdominal spasms, filled in some forms and called an ambulance. After another hour of waiting the ambulance arrived and took me to a nearby hospital. First I was brought to ER, where they took some blood, gave me some fluid via IV and monitored my blood pressure and pulse for two hours. The doctor there did a corona test, too. After that I was brought together with my bed to the third floor where I had a whole room for myself. I was isolated as we had to wait for the next day to get the corona virus test results. Being alone was a bless as I do not really like sleeping in a room full of strangers. Not that I had a lot of sleep that night. It was 2 am in the middle of the night when I got my room. I tried to take a shower, but it was not an easy task with the IV tube hanging from the crook of my arm. Taking a shower was a real bad idea as the water dissolved the glue fixing the IV tube and Monday in the morning it gave up and the needle left the vein. Most probably it did not sit in it correctly as my arm was swollen like the liquid was flowing into my arm instead of the vein. I got a new needle, but this time in the other arm (left) near the wrist. The nurse used a lot of bandage, so this one stayed at its place all the way till Friday. I was released on Friday and during the five days (apart from Sunday night) I spent in the hospital they made many exams including an MRI among others. Of course they took blood multiple times, I still have haematomas all over my arms. Apart from that I felt better and better. Friday arrived. I had two exams on that day, the MRI I already mentioned and an ultrasound. The nurse told me Thursday evening she informed the transport service that they should take me and my bed to the radiology building. However Friday morning another nurse asked me if I could just walk there. Of course I can, I answered, if you just describe me the way. That she did and I really easily found my destination as there were sign everywhere. Although I had to go to another building I could go in my slippers and shorts as all the buildings are interconnected with huge hallways that partly have glass ceilings. In one of them there stood a tall tree. The only positive thing is that my corona virus test came back negative. I feel alright now, but my gastroenterologist told me that I have to decide whether I want surgery or not. He advised I should take surgery as the medicine does not really have any effect on the ill part of my intestines. But this means that part has to be removed. I have till the end of the next week to decide... Additional short story: I managed to destroy my hoodie on Friday. The needle near my wrist got removed and I got the open vein tamponed. As I packed my things I folded the hoodie over my arm so that it covered the tampon and I did not realize that it was full of blood until I felt something wet. However that time the hoodie had big stains of blood and my dear wife could not save it...
