# Ascension Today is Ascension Day, which is a holiday in Germany. Many of my colleagues took Friday off. I did not want to "waste" a day off so I built up some extra hours last week. This way tomorrow I only need to work 4 hours and call it a day. Hopefully no one will disturb me and I can finally do some work. Lately I did a lot of research in our new project and then colleagues just call that they can't accomplish this or that. I help them with my newly aquired knowledge and as a result it seems that I get less work done as they do... The rainy season arrived yesterday. On Sunday & Monday the temperature hit 27C, but yesterday we had only around 13C and rain all day long. It seems that I'll have to wait a long time to get vaccinated as I read in the local newspaper that we have a shortage of the vaccines and they can only vaccinate around 2000 people per week. Although the vaccination center receives ~11500 doses, the vast majority will be used as the second shot for people who already got the first dose. At this rate it will take almost 3 years to vaccinate the rest of the folks here in the city... They'll have to speed up things significantly. Bavaria plans to allow family doctors to vaccinate anybody regardless which priority group they are in.
