# Train ride On the 15th this month we took the train to the airport in Frankfurt. The last time we rode the train was early 2020. We took the ICE. It was far from full, but not empty either. We had to wear masks during the whole journey, but they said it can also be a normal medical mask and not necessarily an FFP2. Unfortunately my mother-in-law has been hospitalized and we got the info that she was in a rather serious condition. My wife was afraid that maybe she wouldn't see her alive anymore. So she cleared everything at work on Monday and took the plane on Tuesday. My mother-in-law has been released from hospital yesterday, but she is very weak. My wife was very upset as she was told in the hospital that she had half an hour to decide whether she wanted to take her mother home or she would be transferred to long-term care. As my wife demanded a doctor to at least tell her in what condition her mother is and what kind of care does she need at home - she was just told that no one is available. What kind of a sick place is that??? My wife and her sister decided to take care of their mother at home, so an ambulance took her to their place. She is still not in a really good condition, but they hope that she'll get stronger. I could nuke the hospital. My ex-boss suggested that I should just get in the car and visit them, show my support to my wife if it is only being there. Sadly I do not think I am fit for a 1000 km drive and there is also the fact that they require you to stay in quarantine upon arriving over there. Right after my wife left I had a rather unpleasant time. I think I had a kind of renal colic with severe pain and the constant urge to urinate. I tried to drink a lot and walk around in the apartment. Luckily the pain went away, but it came back even stronger last Saturday. Then I thought I had to call 112. I had luck once again as after 3 or 4 hours it got better. Since then I have no problems so I hope the little stones - if it were them - went away. After all of my surgeries unfortunately I am susceptible to this, but I had no renal colic before. This is again something new... Oh yes, I was able to get my first shot against Covid. It was administered by the company physician as there was still no reply from the vaccination center. So I just deleted my account there. Back to the train ride. On my way back - alone - it was interesting that on the border of Hessia to Bavaria they said that as Bavaria demands that you wear an FFP2 mask on the train so please everybody switch masks. On our way to Frankfurt they said that a medical mask was also sufficient as we were still deep in Bavarian territory. Maybe the staff was Hessian. Anyway I was just building my base in Subnautica...
