# Life goes on I am back again. Sitting right now on the balcony. We assembled the shade this morning as it is hot today. It'll be 30C tops, but that's enough. We had a strange summer this far as it was raining a lot (causing deadly flooding in western Germany) with temperatures around 20C. We had a hard time recently as my mother-in-law passed away. We got into the car and drove that ~1000 km to our families. Temperatures of 35C - 38C there hit us hard after our chilly summer here in Nuremberg. However on the day of the funeral we had really good weather, not too hot and most importantly without rain. So we got through the hardest part. I am so happy that - as I mentioned in my previous entry - my wife visited her family when her mother had been hospitalized and could take care of her for a little while. At times like this it is really hard that our parents live far away. Life now goes on. It must go on. I got my second shot just over a week ago. I already generated the QR code of the EU vaccine certificate that becomes valid at the end of next week. But hopefully we can travel to our families more easily with it. I even now have some symptomes after the second shot so I visited the doctor on Friday. There are some swollen lymph nodes. I have another appointment next Friday as there was some protein in my urine. So understandably I haven't done a lot of computer related stuff recently - apart from work. Yesterday I converted my backup drive to APFS as I created that before Catalina came out. There are some updates I have to do on my devices. It's hot, but this is the first time this summer that I can comfortably sit on the balcony. We had no time to go to the lakes, but if the weather permits it maybe we'll do that on one of the coming weekends. After my post COVID shot trauma goes away.
