# MiFi

On Saturday(+) as part of cleaning we collected all the useless power
adapters, mobile phones and other ancient and defective electronic
devices we could find.

The most interesting find was my old MiFi router I was using during my
time in Braunschweig. The plan was to stay there for 3 months, work on
the project and head home again. So I used my mobile internet dongle
first, then I bought a smartphone so I picked up this small mobile
internet router from Huawei so that I could use my mobile internet
plan on my laptop & on the phone. (Needless to say I worked there for
almost two years.)

I loved that gadget so I could not throw it away as we dropped off
our e-waste at the nearby electronics store where the city has an
e-waste recycling bin stationed.

There are still some data only plans offered by the network operators.
O2 has one for tablets for 50 EUR a year, but it contains only 30 GB
of traffic - for a whole year.

I seriously thought about buying a data only SIM card - just for fun,
but I did not do it.
