# Silvester

Today is the last day of 2021. We got up at 6:00 and went to the
supermarket. To be honest we wanted to do that yesterday, but my wife
needed some rest. She hurt her back two days ago when she was trying
to put a baking tray full of pumpkin back into the oven.

This was really painful for her. She already had surgery many years
ago because of spinal disk herniation, but it torments her even today.
It was also painful for me seeing her in agony and not really be able
to move. After a bit of rest she could stand again using a cane.

Today she is a lot better, but still far from 100%. She should be
working again on Monday, but I think she should rather visit the doc.
A couple of months ago she already had an MRI which showed only some
wear and tear.

Back to the supermarket. I do not really like being there on the last
day of the year, but we weren't the only ones of course. They are
closed till Monday, so we had to stock up a bit for the upcoming
weekend. Because of the low carb diet we need a lot of fresh stuff.

We do not really have plans for New Year's Eve, we'll definitely stay
home. My parents could not visit us due to the covid regulations, so
there will be just the two of us again.

Yeah, regulations... Here in Germany the shops are not allowed to sell
fireworks this year (same as last year) and you are not allowed to use
them in many places (downtown, around churches and such). Great. So
now I think there were many who ordered some dubious stuff on the net
or bought them in the neighboring countries.
And they said it's because they do not want to have people in the
hospitals due to fireworks accidents......

We started to watch the 4th season of The Good Doctor, so maybe will
continue with that.
