# Birotam emi Two weeks ago I finally bought a bicycle. I went to a bike shop where they do measure you and based on your criteria that you gave them beforehand, they propose a bike that should fit your needs. They also mount everything based on your sizes. Of course it costs more than buying in a shopping mall, but as I have no idea about bicycles it was a safe choice. This way I also do not have to worry about maintenance, they do everything and I just have to reserve a time slot online and drop off the bike in the shop. They also have a bike wash. The first week I only rode it at the weekend as I still have to get accustomed to riding a bike after so many years not having one. I need to work on my balance, too. Otherwise the weather was really miserable with a lot of rain, so took the car to work instead. I rode the bike twice this week to work and checked out two different routes. Our office is in the vicinity of a huge park so I can take the route through the park or around it. Going through the park is shorter but half of the way has no designated cycle path. On the way around the park I only need to share the road with the cars for maybe 200 meters. And it is a street with not so much traffic - especially early in the morning. With the weather getting steadily better I hope I can use the bike more as it is real fun riding it. --- Monday is Pentecost and thus a bank holiday. Long weekend, yay!
