       The problem is not whether elinks is built with gopher support or not,
       but whether /etc/elinks/elinks.conf has these lines:

       |       ## protocol.user.gopher.unix <str>
       |       set protocol.user.gopher.unix = "lynx %u"
       |       ## protocol.user.gopher.unix-xwin <str>
       |       set protocol.user.gopher.unix-xwin = "lynx %u"
