extension, yes? It's likely the issue is the browser interpreting 
the ? as delimiting the query portion of the URL and thus 
stripping it out rather than keeping it as part of the selector. 
If this is the case, you might get somewhere by replacing the ?

not a professional - the code is probably very distant from what 
could be considered idiomatic Scheme. Also watch out for security 
holes when running Scratchy - it's easy to shoot yourself in the 
foot with extension scripts. I really wasn't anticipating anybody
