I'm an old-er nerd, grew up in the 90s with a Pentium 1 and the 
beginnings of the internet via 33.6 kbps dial-up modem. Over the
intervening years I tried a couple times to realize a life in 
the programming world, but it was not meant to be.  I am now a 
hobbyist programmer and nerd when I have time outside of the other
life that I've built for myself.

Over the past few years I've really delved head-first into the 
fediverse and then the smallweb (Gemini, Gopher, and Tildes). 
I really like this space and can see myself staying here so long 
as the smallweb doesn't turn to crap like the WWW did.  I like 
this niche community of enthusiast nerds.
