Dyslexia is a burden against normalcy, and also a superpower-  able
to decipher for the world Facebook's  decision to rebrand itself as
The Meat Corporation. 

Since I started  reading  games journalists  I began learning  some
news.   Right now (June, 2023) Amazon Twitch Proprietary  Streaming
Platform As A Javascript Web Service decided to only give its users
50% of the money  that they are donated  by fans.  A skeezy  online
casino  and  related   ownership   group  offered   the  equivalent
proprietary   web service  for a smaller  cut, so  Amazon   offered
six-figure p.a. earners for them a 70% cut not to leave. Government
and Corporate News Media has characterised this as  Totally  Normal
Financial Negotiations same as sports stars engage in. 

"The  internet  has achieved  what street gangsters   never  could-
putting a porn shop and a loan shark in every livingroom" 

Amazon  has not done something  newly bad; they have always  always
been the same entity as nasty gambling casino backers. 

I     remember      a     while     ago     when     insufficiently
profitable/unpornographic Google Alphabet Corporation YouTube users
were kicked  off and over to PornHub corporation  (a child  of that
one guy/group that owns the majority of pornography-themed internet
pornography)   for their videos about the effectiveness   of  armor
relative to swords or bullets. 

Birdsite's  disintegration,  FleeIt's fall, Meat Corporation,   the
Gulag (now Alphabet  Corporation).  This has been a promising  time
for  liberation  usage-alike  web services  such as  Mastodon   for
Bird/Meat Corporations, and now Lemmy for Fleeit (and it turned out
the Gulag was just linking people to Fleeit owned content anyway). 

So we are fortunate that SDF is offering mastodon.sdf.org,  and now
SDF Chatter- lemmy.sdf.org. Aside from noncommercialisation  of the
internet,   a  resiliency  SDF brings  is that  they  can  preserve
provided   service  across ~ backend  providers.   So  if  mastodon
succeeds in tilting  too much for evil profiteers,  SDF could bring
its inhabitants something else. Lemmy similarly. 

On the other hand in my heart of hearts I absolutely vibrate to the
XWindows  gopher  over on ~club (where I too now also am).  We were
ircing about my experiences  on Mastodon- I had Mastodon Unfollowed
some people as a response to them Mastodon Unfollowing  me.  Rather
than commiserate with me, XWindows pointed out that there is no way
I am successfully  maintaining  the 300 friendships  implied  by my
Mastodon.   In fact I deliberately  go through my Mastodon  Follows
list and explicitly  check  up on everyone,  but this isn't  a very
conventional  friendship, and even this becomes a little difficult,
and arbitrarily filters time towards mastodon users. 

I asked ams about Fleeit - he coined their name - in the context of
SDF Chatter  lemmy becoming  available.   Fleeit  users of the LISP
fleeit  are looking for a new community  base-  and I am supporting
lemmy.sdf.org/c/lisp   - but ams pointed  out ams was not a  Fleeit
user,  and doesn't intend to use a Fleeitalike.   I was also always
against participating on Fleeit in principle to, but then 

I'm actually against the web protocol as such.  The ActivityPub  w3
social  group had been a ray of sunshine  that passed  through  the
consortium kind of under the radar, and we have Christine (guileful
schemer) from ActivityPub  and the Spritely Institute making a sort
of internetworked indie game universe. 

Chris (different  person- of chicken scheme, not guile) tells me of
their secret work on social internet still in the shadows. 

I'm a gopher  first  and always,  though  unless  you count  all my
programming which is secretly gopher-oriented,  it seems like I got
bitten by The Mastodon by how I spend my time recently. 

So-  disintegration  of the Amazon  Web Services  and Fleeits   and
Birdsites  is excellent,  with their erstwhile  Users finding  more
liberation  themed  web softwares.  This is a backdrop  to a future
where  the  hacker   community   of  the  MIT  CADR  haven't   been
commercialised   away  and  quickly  cannibalised   for  a  night's
sustenance   in the first AI winter  snowfall.   A world where lisp
aliens and gophers and whatever the anthropomorphisation  of gemini
is-es  roam  and frolick  in sm0l underground  holes and creativity
chaos.
