Heat milk, butter, sugar and salt until warm and butter is melted. Combine the flour and milk mixture along with the eggs and beat for 1/2 minute on low, scraping the bowl and then beat on hight for 3 minutes. Add enough flour to make a moderately stiff dough and knead until smooth (5-8 minutes by hand). Shape into a ball, place in a greased bowl, cover and let rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 1/2 hours. Punch down and divide into 5 parts, cover and let rest for 10 minutes. Roll each ball into a 5" circle, place on a greased baking sheet, cover and let rise until doubled, about 30-45 minutes. If desired brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees F or until golden, 15-20 minutes. Cool completely.
