Grease bottoms only of 2 loaf pans. (9x5x3) Mix sugar and shortening in large bowl. Mix in eggs, pumpkin, and water. Blend in flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour in pans. Bake 1 hour and 10 min (until toothpick comes out clean in center). Cool 5 min.; remove from pans.
