---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: ORANGE GUNDROPS Categories: Candies Yield: 72 Servings 1 (6-oz) bottle liquid pectin 1/4 Teaspoon baking soda 3/4 c Sugar 3/4 c Light corn syrup 2 Teaspoons orange extract 1 Teaspoon grated orange rind 4 dr Yellow food coloring 2 dr Red food coloring Granulated sugar In small heavy saucepan, stir toghther the liquid pectin and baking soda. Place the sugar and corn syrup in another heavy saucepan. Set each pan over medium heat. Cook contents of each, stirring frequently, for about 4 minutes, or until foam disappears from pectin mixture. Pour the pectin mixture into sugar mixture in a slow stream. Bring to a boil: Boil for exactly 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in the extract, rind and coloring, and pour at once into prepared 9-inch pan, well greased. Let stand for about 2 hours. Cut into approximately 1-inch cubes; and roll in granulated sugar until well coated. Storing: In layers separated by wax paper in airtight container for three weeks. Dee Penrod -----
