                                 Suckers

   1      cup           sugar
     3/4  cup           corn syrup
     1/4  cup           butter
     1/4  teaspoon      food coloring
     1/4  teaspoon      peppermint extract
                        ICING:
   1                    egg white
   1      cup           powdered sugar

In heavy pan bring sugar, syrup, butter to boil, stirring.  Add food coloring; 
stir to blend.  Continue cooking to 265 degrees, strirring occasionally.  Remov
e from heat; stir in flavoring.  Place sticks on cookie sheet.  Drop by tablesp
oons on stick.  When hard mix egg white and powdered sugar.  Decorate suckers.
