---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: SALT WATER TAFFY Categories: Candies Yield: 24 Servings 2 c Sugar 1 c Corn syrup 1 1/2 ts Salt 1 1/2 c Water 2 tb Butter 7 dr Green food coloring 1/4 ts Oil of peppermint Combine sugar, corn syrup, salt and water in 2 quart saucepan. Cook slowly, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Cook to hard ball stage (260 F) without stirring. Remove from heat, stir in remaining ingredients. Pour into buttered 15x10x1 inch pan. Cool until comfortable to handle. Butter hands and gather taffy iunto ball and pull. When candy is light in color and gets hard to pull, cut into fourths. Pull each piece into a long strand about 1/2 inch thick. With buttered scizzors, quickly snip into bite sized pieces. Wrap each piece in waxed paper. 1 1/4 lb. -----
